The design for Dvořák Gardens builds on the park’s existing values and unique character, striking a balance between the refined elegance of the spa environment and the vibrant energy of festival events. It harmonizes the Neo-Renaissance colonnade situated opposite the brutalist Thermal building.
The main compositional axis extends from the bridge near the Thermal Hotel toward the Garden Colonnade, splitting into two paths to create a dignified forecourt that amplifies the colonnade’s architectural significance and establishes the park’s natural focal point. The clear layout employs timeless expressive elements and contemporary architectural language.
The proposal prioritizes the protection of existing trees and introduces high-quality herbaceous planting details. The concept enhances nature’s restorative influence on human, crafting a relaxing, almost therapeutic atmosphere through fragrant flower beds, tranquil water features, bubbling fountains, and diverse spaces for movement, sunbathing, or shaded respite.
The park provides ample capacity to accommodate festival visitors while remaining a self-assured, attractive, and integral part of daily urban life. It seamlessly transitions between dynamic cultural events and the serene, restorative qualities of a timeless public space.
